How much does a website cost in Ecuador in 2026

"How much does a website cost?" is the question we get the most, and the honest answer is another question: what does that site need to do for your business? Two sites that look alike in a screenshot can cost very different amounts, and two quotes with the same price can include very different things.

You will not find a magic price table in this guide, because any number given without knowing your project is a guess. What you will find is what moves the price, what a serious quote in Ecuador should include and how to compare proposals without surprises.

A website's price is set by scope, content and integrations, not by the number of pages. A useful quote spells out all three in writing.

What defines the price of a website

1. The type of site

A presentation page does not cost the same as a site with a blog, a catalog, bookings or a client area.

  • Landing page: a single page designed to convert a campaign. It is the most contained format. If you hesitate between this and a full site, read landing page vs website.
  • Corporate site: several sections (home, services, about, contact, blog). It is the most common case, and we cover it under corporate websites.
  • Online store: adds a catalog, cart, payments and shipping. It has its own cost guide: how much an online store costs in Ecuador.
  • Custom platform: bookings, dashboards, users, integrations. Here we are talking about custom software.

2. Design: template or custom

Starting from a template speeds the work up and lowers the cost, at the price of looking more like other sites. A custom design carries your brand down to the last detail, but needs more design and review hours. Neither is "better": it depends on whether your site is a basic showcase or a central part of how you stand out.

3. Content: who writes it and who loads it

This is the most underestimated cost. A site without copy or photos cannot be published, and someone has to produce them. Always ask whether the quote includes copywriting, photography, translation (for example, Spanish and English) and content loading, or whether those are on you.

4. Features and integrations

Contact form, WhatsApp button, scheduling, payments, CRM, email, maps: every integration adds testing and maintenance. The ones that touch money or customer data need the most care.

5. SEO, speed and analytics

A site can look great and be invisible on Google. Heading structure, metadata, structured data, redirects if you are coming from another site and mobile performance are not optional extras: they are part of delivering a website that works. We explain them in on-page SEO and in Core Web Vitals.

Costs that show up after launch

The initial quote is rarely the total cost of the first year. Ask about this before signing:

  • Domain: renewed every year. It must be registered in your name.
  • Hosting or server: depends on traffic and technology. To understand the options, read VPS vs shared hosting.
  • SSL certificate: many hosts include it today, but confirm it.
  • Maintenance: updates, backups and security. Without it a site degrades. You can cover it with a retainer plan or with one-off support.
  • Future changes: how many review rounds the project includes and how anything after that is billed.

What a serious quote should include

A proposal you can compare with another one should state, in writing:

  1. The scope: pages, sections and features, one by one.
  2. What is delivered: design, development, content, basic SEO, training.
  3. Timelines in dates or weeks, and what they need from you to meet them.
  4. How many revisions are included.
  5. Who owns the code, the design and the domain at the end.
  6. What happens if the project changes midway.
  7. Payment terms and electronic invoicing with your RUC.

If a proposal does not answer these points, a low price may be hiding work that gets billed separately later.

How to compare two quotes

The typical mistake is comparing only the total. Compare in this order:

  • Scope: do they cover the same things? A cheaper quote may leave out content, SEO or mobile.
  • Technology: will you be able to edit the site yourself, or depend forever on whoever built it?
  • Ownership: does the site end up in your name, with access included?
  • Support: what happens if something breaks two weeks after launch?
  • Evidence: are there real projects you can visit? Look at our projects as an example of the level of detail you should ask of any agency.

How long it takes and what it depends on

A well-scoped corporate site usually takes weeks, not days. The time is set mostly by how fast content and decisions arrive from your side. Delays almost never come from the code: they come from copy that does not arrive, approvals that drag on and scope changes along the way.

How we handle quotes at Codegea

We do not publish fixed rates because no two sites are the same. What we do is a free scoping meeting, and then we send you the scope, the timeline and a closed price in writing, with no hidden costs. If you already have a quote from another agency, bring it: we will help you read it even if you do not work with us.

Tell us what you need from the contact page and we will reply with a clear scope.
